The tortured men from Tawergha

Creating awareness at home and abroad about the distressing situation of refugees from Tawergha is number two on the list of actions for this foundation.

To start somewhere in our first week we wrote to newspapers, embassies and institutions such as the UN, NATO or the Dutch Government and creating this website was the closing action for the first week of activities for action number two on the list.

There will be more to come , and with your support, we hope that by next year, the people of Tawergha are safe at home again.

We have published our steps and actions including the result or the replies to the right.

If you have good ideas or additions please let us know, because as you might have noticed we are still searching and are open for suggestions. You could make a start to help us out by sharing this website with your acquaintances, friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Nelson Mandela (1918 - 2013)  May you rest in peace.

To be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.

No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion.

People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.

To administer justice between two people is charity.

The Prophet said;

"Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is oppressed."

People asked;

"…It is right to help him if he is oppressed,

but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?"

The Prophet said;

"By preventing him from oppressing others."

Martin Luther King Speech We Must Speak

A time comes when silence is betrayal.

Even when pressed by the demands of inner truth, men do not easily assume the task of opposing their government's policy, especially in time of war.

Nor does the human spirit move without great difficulty against all the apathy of conformist thought within one's own bosom and in the surrounding world.

Moreover, when the issues at hand seem as perplexing as they often do in the case of dreadful conflict, we are always on the verge of being mesmerized by uncertainty.

But we must move on.
